On Saturday, November 14th, 2009, The Computer Science Department at the University of Waterloo will be hosting the fourth edition of “Computer-Science for You@Waterloo Day“.  This event is designed  for grade 8 to 11 students and their families.

The planned activities require no computer science background – any young student with broad curiosity will enjoy the day.

Volunteer Opportunity

Downsview Park Inc. is looking for STUDENT VOLUNTEERS interested in gaining volunteer hours at the Park’s Trail of Lights festival.  

You can be an Acting Trail Guide (Outdoors) for 5 hours per day 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM from November 27th, 2009 to January 3rd, 2010.  Volunteers may work as many or as few nights as they prefer. 

Volunteers must attend a 2-hour training session on Sunday, November 22nd, 2009 from 12:00PM – 2:00 PM at Downsview Park.  Volunteer hours will be given for attending this session and for all shifts worked at the festival.

The OCAS College Registration site is now open. 
Use the direct link located in the Guidance web
page for easy access.  All applications received
and paid for on or before FEBRUARY 1, 2010 will be given equal cosideration by the colleges for programmes that are over-subscribed.   Make an appointment with your alpha Guidance Counsellor for  additional information.  There are also hard copies of College Calendars as well as the “Find a Programme Guide” and the “Ontario College Reference Guide”  in the Guidance Office.  Don’t leave your application to the last minute.  Be proactive and register now.

Ontario Universities’ Fair! 2009

Representatives from most of  the Ontario universities will be at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, 222 Bremner Blvd. (next to the CN Tower and Skydome).  This 3 day event takes place on: Friday, Sept. 25 from 9 am – 6 pm; Saturday Sept. 26, from 10 am – 5 pm and Sunday Sept. 27, from 10 am – 5 pm.  Don’t miss this opportunity to explore post-secondary options.
